The article titled “Conceptualising transnational politicisation in international affairs: the Turkish diaspora in Germany and the politicisation of German–Turkish relations”, co-authored by our faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Turhan and Prof. Dr. Kai Oppermann, a faculty member at TU Chemnitz and a member of the TAU Flying Faculty, has been published open access in the Journal of International Relations and Development (JIRD), one of the most prestigious journals in the discipline of International Relations and indexed in SSCI/Q1.

Conflict Management, Peacebuilding and Reconstruction: Opportunities and Challenges for Cooperation between Türkiye, Germany and the EU

Co-organized by the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Turkish-German University, and the University of Cologne, the conference titled “Conflict Management, Peacebuilding, and Reconstruction: Opportunities and Challenges for Cooperation between Turkey, Germany, and the EU” will take place on May 7, 2026, at the Turkish-German University Campus.

The project titled "International Security in a Post-Conflict Context: A Comparative Analysis of the Western Balkan States" has been accepted by TÜBİTAK

We are pleased to announce that the project titled “International Security in the Post-Conflict Context: A Comparative Analysis of Western Balkan States” has been awarded funding from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK - 3501 Career Development Program). The project aims to provide a comparative analysis of ontological security and peace agendas in the Western Balkan states.

Research assistant Fatih Demir has successfully defended his doctoral thesis

Research Assistant Fatih Demir from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at our Faculty has been awarded the title of Doctor (PhD) with his dissertation entitled “From Geopolitical Power to Geo-economic Power: Germany and German Naval Strategy”. The dissertation was prepared within the International Relations program of the Atatürk Strategic Studies and Graduate Education Institute at the National Defence University, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evren Mercan.
